First go to the link if you haven't got BattleCom and download the Client.
(Make Sure You Have The Client!) Save to a folder you like. Install the Client. Once you
have installed the client, then run it for the first time, this will set up battlecom for future use. You will get a
screen showing your sound devices, just click next (it automatically picks
the best device for you) Next you will get the microphone setup, follow the instructions
there. if you don't have a mic then click next. Next you will see the Volume setup screen, you
really don't have to do anything with this unless you want to play around with the settings here. (I just
left them the way they were) Click next, now you will see the connections settings. In the
Alias box, type the name/handle as you will want to be known as in the chat server. The protocol should be tcp/ip leave that
as it is. Click Next. Now you should see page 2 of the connection settings in the top box you should see connection
type, here is where you put your type of connection, the drop down box has a list of different connections (DSL,Cable,
56k etc.) whatever your internet is, that is your connection type so choose that. Below that you will see compression
type. The default should be Delta. Leave that as it is (Delta is what you want for now).
Click next. Now you will see ICQ support, just click next here. Now you will see game compatibility
instructions, you don't have to do anything here so just click next. Now you should see the Congratulations
screen so Congrats you made it through and are pretty much done.....almost. Click Finish. Now when you click finish
a box appears saying Loopback mode, click close. You will be in loopback mode which is basically
a test for your comms. Click Close. You will see a button at the top that says "Stop Test" click
on that. Now the other buttons become available at the top. Now to join a BattleCom chat session, Click the button at the
top that says "Join Session" You will get a screen that says Login information/Server
information. Enter your player name in the box provided. In the server information add the following: In the
box that says Server Address, type the IP that was given to you in here (example:
192.100.2.201) Then enter the password that was given to you in the box that says Password. NOTE:
make sure you have no spaces and that your password is all lowercase. (small letters, No Caps). Then click connect
once the required information is in the boxes. Then *poof* that's all there is too it, you should be connected to the server
and be ready to hear and chat. GoodLuck, if you have any questions please click on the link below to e-mail me and I will
